One Week in Tokyo / Short film

Postcards from Japan (But Make It Dreamlike)

This is an experimental short film, shot handheld with my BMCC6K and a pair of NiSi Athena primes during a recent trip to Japan. No script, no setup—just me, the streets, and the constant pull to capture something honest.

I wandered for days (and plenty of nights), chasing the light, the movement, the quiet beauty in everyday scenes. What started as a personal archive turned into a collection of “moving postcards”—fragments of memory tied together by feeling.

Months later, I stitched it all into a visual diary. Then came the transformation: I ran the footage through a series of AI video-to-video tools, exploring different styles and techniques until it felt... otherworldly. Real moments, filtered through a digital dream.

I hope this piece lets you feel just a sliver of what I felt walking through Japan.
Big thanks to Simona—for the patience, the help, and the late-night lens swaps.
